Glands, Exocrine glands

A glands is a type of small sac found inside our body in which enzymes and hormones are filled. Or, the storage of enzymes and hormones is called glands. On this basis, the glands are divided into three parts, the first exocrine glands, the second endocrine glands and the third mixed glands. Most people don’t understand what that is? Most people think that the exocrine glands are outside the body and the endocrine glands are in the body while this is wrong. So let’s understand this in detail:-

Glands

The first exocrine glands, the exocrine gland is a gland that produces enzymes that act on target tissue and organs. The exocrine gland does not release enzymes into the bloodstream directly because it does that causes the wrong reaction in the body. There is a duct for the exocrine gland, which prevents enzymes from contact with blood. Examples of exocrine glands include sweat, mamma, saliva, lacrimal, ceruminous, sebaceous, prostate and mucus.

Exocrine glands

The second endocrine glands, the endocrine gland is a gland that produces hormones (chemical messenger) which acts on target tissue and organs, where they affect growth and metabolism. These glands do not have a channel or they do not issue their secretions on any surface, it is the secret of secretion in the blood. The main glands of the endocrine system include pineal glands, pituitary glands, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid glands, thyroid glands, hypothalamus and adrenal glands.

Endocrine glands

Third mixed glands, mixed glands are glands that produce exocrine and endocrine both like serous fluid and mucus. Example of mixed gland is pancreas.

Types of exocrine glands

These are following types of exocrine glands

1. Ceruminous glands

This gland is found in the ear which secretes our ear wax. You must have seen many people that they go to the doctor to get their ear cleaned because a lot of wax has been secreted in their ear.

2. Lacrimal glands

This gland is found in the eyes, two types of glands are found in the eyes, in which the gland found in the upper part of the eye is called the lacrimal gland and the one which is found in the lower part of the eye is called mammae gland.

3. Mammae glands

This gland is found in the eyes, which works to protect the eyes. Mammae gland produces oil in the eye to protect the eyes.

4. Sweat glands

The sweat glands are exocrine glands it’s distributed throughout the body surface. The main function of this gland is to remove sweat from the body.
