Objectives
1. To provide for collection of leave and duties in medicinal and toilet preparation containing alcohol.
2. To provide for uniformity in the roles and rate of excise duties leviable on such preparation through and company.
3. To provide therapeutic effects to alleviate or cure specific medical conditions like pain reliever.
4. Act as preventive measures to reduce the risk of certain diseases or conditions like vaccine and antimalarial.
5. Curb all irregulating of previous act.
Definition of some points
Alcohol
It refers to any organic compounds that contains a hydroxyl (-OH) functional group attached to a carbon atom.
Medicinal preparation

Bonded manufacturing
It means the premises approved and licensed for the manufacture and storage of medicinal and toilet preparation containing alcohol, opium, Indian hemp and other narcotic drug or narcotics on which duty has not been paid.
Non-bonded manufacturing
It means the premises approved licensed for the mfg. & storage of medicinal and toilet preparation containing alcohol, opium, Indian hemp and other narcotic drug or narcotics on which duty has been paid.
