Composition of blood

Now we are going to read about Composition of Blood. There are basically two parts in the blood, one is its liquid part and second is its hard part, we call the liquid part as plasma and the hard part as blood cells. For your information, let me tell you that plasma is present in the blood 60% and blood cells 40%.

Now let’s talk about plasma, Plasma makes up 60% of the whole blood, which keeps the blood liquid. Plasma contains a special type of protein called fibrinogen, Another type of protein is found in it, which is called prothrombin. Both of these proteins help in clotting (coagulation) of the blood. If you remove the Fibrinogen protein from the plasma of any blood, then that blood starts appearing light yellow in color and it also becomes thin, the remaining blood is called serum. Most diseases are diagnosed with serum only.
Now let’s talk about blood cells or corpuscle. It is the granular part of the blood. It can be divided into three parts.

1. RBC

The full form of RBC is red blood cell, its technical name is erythrocyte. It constitutes 95% of total blood cells, the total number of RBCs is 5 million in blood. If we talk about the lifespan, then the life span of RBC is 120 days, after 120 days it gets damaged. The shape of RBC is spherical and slightly flattened, As we go to a higher place, the level of oxygen decreases there, due to which the size of RBC starts increasing. Nuclei and lysosomes are not found inside RBCs. Deficiency of RBC causes a disease called anemia.

2. WBC:-

The full form of WBC is white blood cell, its technical name is leukocytes. It constitutes 2% of total blood cells, the total number of WBCs is 10 thousands in blood. If we talk about the lifespan, then the life span of RBC is 4 days, after 4 days it gets damaged. Its shape is uncertain and nucleus is found in, It has a nucleus so you can test DNA from it. Hemoglobin is not found in WBC, hence its color is white, WBC plays an important role in protecting against diseases.

3. Platelets:-

The technical name of platelets is thrombocytes. It constitutes 3% of total blood cells, the total number of platelets is 2 lakh in blood. If we talk about the lifespan, then the life span of Platelets is 7 days, after 7 days it gets damaged. Its shape is like a convex lens, the nucleus is not present in it. To increase platelets, we should eat fruits and drink goat’s milk.
