In today’s article we are going to read about Biology. The father of biology is called Aristotle who discovered biology. Biology is studied by dividing it into two parts, first zoology, second botany, in zoology we discussed about animals and in botany we discussed about plants. If we talk about Zoology, then Aristotle is called the father of Zoology and Theophrastus is called the father of Botany.
Cell
Cell is the smallest unit of our life, our whole body is made up of cells. Do you know who discovered the cell, so let me tell you that the cell was discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665. You must have known that the cell was discovered by Robert Hooke, but for your information, let me tell you that Robert Hooke discovered the dead cell, the living cell was discovered by : Antonie van Leeuwenhoek. The theory of the cell was given by Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann, according to them, our body is made up of cells(smallest unit of our body). When someone asks you who gave the theory of cell or who is the father of the theory of cell then you should know that Matthias Schleiden, Theodor Schwann gave the theory of cell. The study of the cell is called cytology. The largest cell in the world is present in the ostrich egg and the world’s smallest cell is present in the micro-plaza but when it comes to humans, the largest cell in humans is found in the ovum, that is present in the female and the smallest cell in humans is found in the sperm that is present in the male. When we have read about the smallest cell and the largest cell, now let us read about the longest cell, then the longest cell is the neurons which is present in our brain.
Cell division
After study of cell we are going to short view of cell division, cell division plays an important role in our body, our cells grow due to cell division or if a cell is damaged, it is repaired by cell division. Cell division is necessary for our body, but if the cell division starts in our body beyond the limit, then it takes the form of cancer. The fastest cell division in our body occurs in the liver, if the cell division in the liver starts exceeding its limit, then it takes the form of cancer. The slowest cell division in our brain is in the neuron, which is present in our brain, if our brain was made up of only neuron, there would be no cell division in our brain because neuron is the longest cell in our body, so there is no cell division in our brain. There is no cell division. But our brain is made up of neurons and glial cells and cell division takes place in the glial cell itself, due to which brain cancer occurs.
Structure of cell
Our cell is covered by a membrane called cell membrane. The cell membrane is made up of phospholipids, it is present in both animals and plants. Cell membrane works to protect the cell. Plants have a membrane called cell wall, which is not present in animals. Cell wall is made of cellulose, with the help of cellulose, plants cook their food and grow. The cell wall plays a very important role in tree plants, it also serves to protect them.
The cell is filled with a liquid called cytoplasm. For the first time a scientist named Purkinje protoplasm discovered that the liquid which is filled inside the cell is called cytoplasm. Which is made up of about 85% water. Cytoplasm is the basis of the cell, if the cytoplasm is removed from our cell, then all the cell’s organelles which are present in our cell will collide with each other and get destroyed. Biology
